Labiaplasty at Plastic + Hand
For some women, the labia minora hangs below hair-bearing labia majora. The result can be twisting and tugging when riding a bike or during intercourse, itching, irritation, and self-consciousness. Labiaplasty can alleviate those symptoms.
In addition, a labiaplasty may be performed to reduce asymmetry when one side of the labia minora is longer than the other.
TRAINED AT SOME OF THE COUNTRY’S TOP MEDICAL CENTERS, PLASTIC + HAND SURGEONS HAVE THE DEPTH OF EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM YOUR labiaplasty SURGERY SAFELY AND SUCCESSFULLY…ALL RIGHT HERE IN MAINE.
What does a labiaplasty involve?
A labiaplasty reduces the length of one or both sides of the labia minora so that it no longer hangs below the labia majora. The most common type is the trim procedure in which extra tissue is removed and sewn up directly. Closure is usually done with absorbable sutures.
Where is labiplasty performed at Plastic + Hand?
Labiaplasty at Plastic + Hand is performed in the comfort of our state-of-the-art Plastic + Hand Surgery Center.
What can I expect after labiaplasty?
Most patients take a week off from work, during which they can reduce swelling and pain by icing with a cold pack sandwiched between the patient’s underpants and an elastic garment, like Spanx. This can be done “twenty minutes on, twenty minutes off.” The patient can also lie with her bottom elevated to reduce swelling. While the most distorting swelling is gone by 6 weeks, residual swelling may take six months to disappear.
WITH A PLASTIC + HAND SURGEON, YOU’LL GET THE RESULTS YOU WANT WITH THE RESPECT YOU DESERVE…ALL RIGHT HERE IN MAINE.
