Patient Story: Karleigh
“Ever since I was younger, I had hooded eyelids,” Karleigh shares. “As I got older, this skin became more noticeable. Whenever I applied makeup, my eyeliner would smudge onto my upper eyelid, and I was constantly wiping it off. I also felt self-conscious in photos because I looked like I was squinting, and I always wore sunglasses. My eyelids became a real insecurity.”

Karleigh chose to have her eyelid surgery done under local anesthesia. “I was awake the entire time. It didn’t hurt, and I was able to chat and joke with everyone in the room,” she says. “It was such a quick procedure. Before I knew it, I was out and about. They gave me my ice packs, explained everything, and I was heading home 30 minutes after surgery.”
At home, Karleigh rested and iced her eyes for a couple of days. “I had some swelling and bruising but was back at work after just four days.”

Just two weeks after eyelid surgery, Karleigh was amazed by the difference.
“It’s incredible how a minor procedure can completely change how you feel in pictures or when you look in the mirror,” she says. “For the first time ever, I can actually see my eyelids. I look brighter, more awake, and alert—I’m absolutely in love with the results.”
