The Plastic + Hand Surgery Center
Medical advances in recent years mean that many of the surgical procedures that used to require overnight stays in a hospital can now be performed safely on an outpatient basis. The Plastic + Hand Surgery Center is an outpatient surgery facility located on-site. Opened in 1987, it was one of Maine’s first day surgery facilities.
Experienced nurses and physician assistants staff two full-scale operating rooms. An anesthesiologist from Spectrum Medical Group, the physician group that provides anesthesia at Maine Medical Center, provides anesthesia care for our patients.
The Plastic + Hand Surgery Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory HealthCare, Inc. It is also Medicare-certified and licensed by the State of Maine.
Our facility meets the same state and federal requirements as hospital-based outpatient surgery units. We provide our patients with safe, individualized surgical care in a comfortable, efficient and private setting.
